Polka Dot Party

We had Averi's 1st Birthday Party yesterday and it was so much fun. I decorated in polka dots and it really was adorable. The only sad thing is it was a little cool and cloudy (the weather man was off by at least 10 degrees), but at least it didn't rain. We had the party at a local park with family and some close friends. Here are some pictures of the party...

Happy 1st Birthday Averi!

Today is Averi's 1st birthday! We are SO blessed to have her as a very special part of this family. These are things we have learned about her so far:

*She is very HAPPY/JOYFUL. She almost always has a big bright smile on her face and she has the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen.

*She is incredibly ACTIVE (Wiggle worm, doesn't like to sit still very long/hates cuddling)

*She LOVES PEOPLE (she says "hi" to every stranger that walks past in the grocery or holds her arms up/reaches out to people at the park that she doesn't know)

*She ADORES HER SISTER. She is Mia's little shadow. She watches her every move and laughs at her all the time. Although she does not like to be bossed by her and has recently starting fussing back at at her:) Pretty funny!

*She is a DAREDEVIL. She loves to climb on or off of things. She is usually standing up or climbing out of her highchair, stroller or the grocery cart. She is small so she can wiggle out of anything.

*She is a PICKY EATER. I have a hard time finding things that she will eat. She's really just too busy to eat and would rather be playing!

*She LOVES LIFE. She wakes up squealing and is ready to hit the world (usually right around 7am) the second she wakes up. She would much rather be playing than sleeping or eating:)

We look forward to watching her grow and learning more and more things about her each and every year of her life. Thank you God SO MUCH for such a precious gift!

Easter

We had a lovely Easter. I always love to look around the church on Easter Sunday and see it packed full! It was awesome! Then we went over to Jon's moms house for dinner and an easter egg hunt. We celebrated with my parents before they left to go out to TX on Saturday. They also had an egg hunt for the girls out on their deck. They will back for Averi's party this weekend.

Close Call

We went to the Galleria just to walk around and have lunch today since it was cold outside. Well just as we sit down and begin to eat our lunch Mia says "I have to go poo poo". Crap! Why now?! So I said "okay honey well let's finish eating our lunch and then we'll go". So she takes another bite of food and about a minute or so later she says "uh oh, poo poo coming out" I said "NO!!!! PLEASE WAIT!" So I load everyone into the stroller, place our food on top of the stroller and race through the food court to the bathroom. And wouldn't you know my luck the dad gum bathroom is "CLOSED FOR CLEANING". Are you freaking kidding me right now?! Right in the middle of lunchtime?! Bad timing! Anyways then we race all the way to the other end of the Galleria to another public restroom and the whole way there I'm saying "Mia, your okay, please hold it, we're almost there!" So we get in to the other bathroom go in to the stall and there is NO toilet paper!!! What in the heck?! Do I have the worst luck ever or what?! So I leave the stroller and the girls in the stall and run from stall to stall to finally find a stall that had some toilet paper in it. I come back and line the toilet with paper set Mia on it and she says "I not need to go poo poo anymore" I said "OH YOU ARE GOING POO POO!!!!" I was about to die! And she did finally go:) I think she was trying to hold it so tight that she didn't feel like she had to go anymore. But I was making sure she went if we had to wait in there for 30 minutes. Just a funny toddler moment that I thought I would share. Talk about major stress!!!

Averi's Portraits

Averi just had her 1 yr. portraits taken yesterday at Portrait Innovations. I did not consider the fact that it was Spring Break and Easter week so it was absolutely packed. We were in there (with screaming/out of control kids) for 2 1/2 hours. The girls were SO well behaved and the pictures turned out great. I love how her personality shines through in these pictures. Easter Egg Hunt

We went to an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday and the girls had the best time. Averi squealed the ENTIRE time. It was just SO much fun to her. And Mia still hasn't stopped talking about it. Here is a slide show...

Best Friends...

This is Averi (11 months) and my friend Aaron's little girl Aubrey (9 months). They are so adorable together. When they saw each other today they were waving and smiling from ear to ear and Av kept saying "HI". SO cute!
