Off to Florida I Go...

We are getting a little more settled in the house each day. I have tried to keep everything in perspective in order to not get too overwhelmed. I'm just taking it one day at a time and one box at a time.

I am leaving tomorrow to go to Ft. Lauderdale with my mom for 6 days. I will be helping coach a soccer camp at my brother's school down there. The girls and Jon are staying here. He has to work and our tryouts for our team here start before I get back. The girls will be going to camp at our church in the mornings and Jon's mom will be keeping them in the afternoons until he get's home from work.

I am sad about leaving them all for the week, but I know they'll have fun and I honestly do think it will be a good little break for me after being SO busy these last few weeks. I will have the soccer camp in the morning's and then get to relax some in the afternoons. Joel & Cristy have a pool so maybe I'll get to lay out some. I can't remember the last time I actually got to do that.

Mia's 5 Year Checkup

Mia had her 5 yr. checkup today. She weighed in at 32 lbs (3rd percentile) and is 38 inches (5th percentile) tall. He says there is no reason to worry, she's just a tiny little thing. As long as she's a good eater (which she is) then she is fine.

She also had to get 4 shots...terrible! It was funny because the cry got a little louder with each one ending in a scream. I totally anticipated that though and she did great overall. At least she didn't fight the nurse.

We met daddy at the mall for ice cream and to pick out a Build a Bear outfit after it was all over so that made her happy. I think I'm just as relieved to have it over with as she is. I have been dreading it for quite a while.

Officially Moved...

So, we are moved and settling into the new house. Some of the staff at SMI helped us move on Saturday which was such a blessing. I have gotten the bedrooms pretty much unpacked and my next big task is the kitchen. My refrigerator is on backorder and won't be in until 6/8, so it looks like we will be eating out a good bit for the next couple weeks. I am not complaining though. We are just glad to be moved. We can't get over how much more space we have everywhere. We are enjoying it...The girls rooms turned out really cute and they LOVE them. Anyways, I will post some more pictures soon.

Almost There!

So things have been PRETTY crazy but we are nearing the end. We are moving this Saturday. I am so worn out but I know how nice it will be to finally be in the new house after lots of hard work. There will still be plenty to do, but I am so tired of living between 2 houses it's not even funny. So I am looking very forward to getting settled in and doing one project at a time.

Jon & I rented a U-Haul on Saturday and drove to the IKEA in Atlanta to pick up some of our new furniture. Here are a few of the items we picked out...

Our sectional for the LR (folds into a large sofa bed)

Several shelving units

A really comfortable chair for the LR...

And the footstool to go with in...

My kitchen island which I am SO excited about. It has a chopping block on top...

We also got a lot of little items for the kitchen, frames, lamps and other decor. Their prices are so inexpensive and we love the contemporary style of their stuff. We saved our tax refund this year to purchase some new stuff because it was time for an update on the furniture.

Please pray for us if you think about it throughout this week as we pack and get the other house ready to move into. And for Averi...She has been fighting a chest cold/fever and has had a couple rough nights. Thankfully she is now on an antibiotic and steroid.

Mia's Swim Party Ariel Style

Mia had her birthday party this weekend. She had a swim party at the Sleeper's house and everything went really well. Thankfully they had the pool heated as the temperature dropped that day.

This picture cracks me up...Love the facial expressions:)

Sweet & happy Tori...

I usually always make the girls cake, but this year I just had WAY TOO MUCH going on with the house and moving, so I ordered it from Publix, and it turned out really cute...

Opening presents...

Averi was freezing so my grandmother was keeping her warm...

Awana Awards

Averi had so much fun in her first year of Awana Puggles this year. Here are a few pictures of the awards ceremony...she thought she was so big:)

And here's Mia receiving her Cubbies awards...

Thankful For My Mother's Day Blessings

I have really been reflecting on what a blessing my girls are to me this Mother's Day. Having had 3 miscarriages just in the past year and then having my doctor tell me what an absolute miracle it was that I was even able to carry my 2 girls full term has really made me appreciate them so much more.

I am at the point where I realize that right now this is where God has me at. And instead of wishing their first years away because I am consumed about wanting another baby, I want to be thankful for the blessing they are to me and enjoy them. At this point I'm not sure that another baby will be a reality for me. But there are many women out there who would give anything to just have one child. So I am truly blessed with my 2. I love my girls more than anything!

And my family has spoiled me already today with breakfast in bed, sweet cards, my favorite flowers, Mia made me a travel coffee mug at school and Jon got me a brand new matching set of 12 pots & pans (my cookware is so old and mismatched it's not even funny). And later they are taking me to dinner. So they have done well making me feel loved and appreciated. I was thinking back to past Mother's Days and the last 6 or 7 years I have spent at soccer tournaments. So I am enjoying this one a whole lot:)

I hope that you all have a very special Mother's Day as well. And if you are a mother, please spend this day reflecting on what a blessing each one of their precious lives truly are...

A Move In Date...

So we FINALLY have a move in date...May 22nd. Which means we have 2 weeks left to get everything ready, or at least what we are wanting to complete before we move in. This house was in such bad shape, that there will still be several months of projects left. But the main 2 floors will be move-in ready and then we will tackle the playroom, deck, kitchen backsplash etc. once we are in.

After a lot of consideration, we have decided to hire someone to put our hardwood floors in. Jon has SO many other projects to work on in the house, plus trying to find someone that can help him has been a task, so we decided that it would be best to just have someone do it for us. They will come put in the floors next Thursday and Friday, then we will drive to Ikea in Atlanta to pick up the rest of our furniture on Saturday, and then have a week to finish up everything else.

Here are the tile floors which Jon, my dad and I put in both upstairs bathrooms last weekend...

And here is the girls bathroom with the shower curtain in...

We set up a DVD player in Averi's room for when the girls go to the house with us while we are working. They were so cute all bundled up together watching their movie this morning...

Mia's Birthday

After church we went to Sol Azteca (our favorite Mexican restaurant) for lunch. The whole reason we went there was because Mia wanted them to sing to her, but the 2 guys who sing "Happy Birthday" weren't there so she was a little disappointed about that...We promised her we will go back later this week and have them sing to her:)

Jenny (a good friend from PNG) & her family were passing through Birmingham, so we met them at the mall and let the kids Build-a-Bear together...

Then we finished the night with eating at an Italian restaurant and ice cream at McDonald's before the Purvis' had to head back to MS...

Such a fun day! Her "BIG" party is this weekend and she is SO excited.
