SMCS Homecoming

We had a family night Friday night and went to the SMCS homecoming game together. The girls had a blast watching the band, the cheerleaders, socializing, and eating nachos.

Going to give Mr. Bill a hug-she always has to make her rounds and say "hey" to everyone:)

Mia's Salvation

September 18, 2010 - Anniversary of Mia's Salvation
This weekend marked a very important event in our family. Mia accepted Christ as her personal Savior! She has known the facts for some time now and we have had many discussions but didn't want to force anything on her and knew she would come to a point on her own when she was ready.

So she came to me Sunday and said "Mommy I want to tell you something...when I was praying in bed last night I asked Jesus to come into my heart and now I'm gonna go to heaven one day". We spent the next little bit talking through it and making sure she understood what that meant and prayed with her again - it was a very special time. It was an emotion as a mom that I have never felt before. I mean something we have prayed for since before she was born. And really in life it's the only thing that matters. It made us feel even better that it's something she did on her own with the prompting of the Holy Spirit and didn't do it just to please us or anyone else.

At dinner that night she asked to pray and she said "Jesus, I pray that everyone in the whole world will believe and ask You into their hearts too so that they can go to heaven". It was PRECIOUS! I think Averi was feeling a little left out and has been saying ever since Sunday "Mommy I want to go to heaven with Mia...Can I go too?:) So then Mia starts sharing with her how to do that:) So cute...

We bought her a new Bible and had her name engraved on it. She was so excited and took it to school with her today to show everyone:) What a blessing to have my daughter now as a sister in Christ too!

The First of Many Games

Mia's first game went really well. There was one time that she dribbled the whole way down the field which was very exciting. Most of the time she would stay in the one spot that was her position and watch the chaos of the rest of the 2 teams all chase the ball:) That so fits her personality. U6 is what we call bunch ball...she does not want to be a part of that. She told me she was protecting the goal. I like how she thinks:)

Notice Mia watching the chaos as the herd passes by:)

My mom and dad came to watch and took the girls for ice cream afterwards...

The girls love playing in Aunt Cheryl's sunroom.

On the boat...

Jon and Tyler tubing...

Mia wasn't super thrilled about the "dirty" water where she couldn't see the bottom:)

We went on a family waverunner ride which both girls LOVED. They wanted to keep going and going:)

Mia loves to help Uncle Chip drive the boat...
