Cutest Little Ballerina!

Mia had her end of the year recital yesterday. I know I am biased, but she was seriously the cutest little thing ever! She looked so adorable in her costume and she was totally in her element on stage.

Painting her fingernails...

Ms. Heather putting her flower wreath on.

Love this picture...

This is before the show started...

Mia's bossing Averi and telling her not to touch the decorations:)

Notice Mia giggling...

Talking to Parker...

My absolute FAVORITE picture...

I think Parker was getting bored and ready to go home at this point:)

Ups & Downs

So our Destin trip had it's ups and downs. I'll start out with the good points...I did get to lay out on the beach for a couple hours on Saturday afternoon. And we did make it to the outlet malls. I found some really good deals at the Children' Place outlet for the girls. Then we went out to eat at AJ's that night which was right on the harbour, so that was fun.

Unfortunately Jon started running a fever that evening after dinner and then starting throwing up during the night! I felt so bad for him. He was up off and on all night (all I could think of was that it was a good thing the girls weren't with us). We ended up having to leave to head back around 11 yesterday (at check out time) and we didn't get to make it to our last game. Jon was just too weak and sick and I had to get him home. All he wanted to do was get back to his own bed. So he slept in the car and I drove all the way back. He is still in quarantine in our room. He really wants to see the girls but I DO NOT want them to catch this thing. Mia's big ballet recital is Wednesday and her birthday is coming up at the end of the week too. Plus last summer when they caught the stomach bug from hell, it lasted 3 weeks (off and on). He is feeling a little better today and will hopefully be able feeling well enough to go back to work tomorrow. Please pray for him to get his strength back and that no one else catches it in the meantime.

Here's the 1 picture I took in Destin (and it's not even a good one at that). Pretty sad:)

Destin Bound

Jon & I are heading to Destin tomorrow for a soccer tournament. We have decided not to take the girls this time. It has been a long time since we have gone away alone together. We usually take at least one of them with us. But they really do better here if they have each other to play with, and since it is a long drive and we will only be there for the weekend, we decided it would work out best this way.

So all that to say I am really looking forward to having some time alone with Jon. We won't have to worry about getting to the condo by 7 or 8 each night for their bed time, or have to sit in the condo all afternoon while they nap (I know all you who have small children know what that's like). We can actually take a walk on the beach or lay out during our free time instead:) We are leaving tomorrow at noon so we will have the whole evening tomorrow and the afternoon/evening on Saturday (our games end at 3:00) to do whatever we want. We might even make it to the outlet mall... Sometimes coaching soccer really pays off:)

Tornadoes In the Mind of a 4 yr. Old

Mia thinking of her next question...

Here a just a few of the hundreds of questions I was asked by Mia during the tornadoes last night!

1. What does a tornado look like?

2. Is our house going to fall down? Is it going to crash? I wanna go outside so it doesn't fall on us!

3. Does Santa Claus ride on the tornado?

4. Is a tornado like a big line?

5. When are the lights going to come back on?

6. Where is daddy going? (me: to check on the weather) I want him to be safe with us!

7. Do daddy's get scary (scared) too? Do mommy's get scary?

8. Is the tornado gonna go to another little girl's house too?

9. Please turn the lights back on! Is it time for them to come back on yet?!

10. What's that noise (tornado siren)? Is it a car?

We went in the bathroom with our candles and popcorn while we waited for them to blow over. The girls thought it was SO fun. According to Mia it was "like a picnic".

Averi was just happy to get to eat popcorn. We typically don't let her have it so it was a fun treat for her!

Sunday Afternoon Golf

I went to get a pizza after church today and this is what I found when I got home. Playing golf with daddy in their dresses...precious!

Change in Plans

Well...unfortunately the Australia missions trip has fallen through for this summer. We received an e-mail from the missionary over there saying the timing was not good for them as they are trying to open their new church in early August. At the same time, Jon & I really felt that God was closing the doors on for our team as well. A lot of people were concerned about the finances of the trip and we just weren't getting the numbers we hoped for. So when we heard that from the missionary, it really confirmed that the trip just wasn't meant to happen this summer.

My brother Joel had already asked Jon & I to come coach a soccer camp down in Hollywood, FL at his school. So what we have decided to do is open it up to the team and take as many of the girls that are able to go with us to help run the soccer camp. Joel is going to open it up to the community down there (in addition to the school) and try to bring in as many kids as possible. We are obviously disappointed about Australia but are excited about going to Florida and are expecting to have a lot more girls to participate and get involved in this mission. Please pray for us as we change our focus and start working on plans to head to Florida in July.

Hanging out with Family

As I mentioned in my last post, Jenny and her 2 daughters (Bree & Ansley) are here for a visit until Friday. My girls absolutely adore their big cousins and are having so much fun hanging out with them.

We went to Chuck-E-Cheese on Monday. They had a blast dancing (especially Mia as you can tell)...

Took the girls to this little creek in Pelham. The water was FREEZING, but they had a good time anyway...
