We've had a lot going on this summer, so I have not been able to blog much lately. Here's a quick update...
My parents left a few weeks ago to head back to Kazakhstan. My dad is still having lots of back problems, so please be praying for him while they are there. Right now they plan to stay until January, but it depends on if his back gets any better or not. We miss them like crazy already but have been able to talk to them on Skype with the webcams some, so that's been nice.
We are about to leave for the beach with our soccer team. We will be doing a 5 day team camp and are excited about it. The girls will be staying here with Judy (Jon's mom). Please pray that they will be okay and not miss us too much while we are away. It will be the longest amount of time we've been away from them. We felt like we would be able to better minister to the girls on the team without them there. Plus we will be having 3 hour training sessions each morning and doing a lot of activities with the team, so it would be hard for the little ones to keep up:) I'm really looking forward to a bit of a break, but I will MISS THEM LOTS!
That's about it for now. I'll be posting more updates and pictures soon...

Fire Station Visit
The girls had their first visit to a fire station today. We went with a group from Lakeside Baptist for their summer story time series. It was lots of fun...Mia was nervous the whole time we were there that they were going to turn on the sirens or drive off while she was in the truck...it was hilarious:) That's why she looks scared in half the pictures. Averi on the other hand had a good time climbing up in the truck and messing with the nozzles etc.

Afterwards we headed back to the church for pizza...

Celebrating 8 Years...
We are celebrating our 8 year anniversary today. We went out and spent some time shopping together Saturday night and Jon bought me this dress I am wearing (I love it). And then today we had lunch together at O'Charley's while Judy took the girls for a little while to have lunch and do some shopping.

Our wedding day: 7/13/01

As I said in my previous post, I feel so blessed to have Jon as a husband. And I am looking forward to many, many, many more years together...

Daddy to the Rescue
I had a bad headache yesterday. It got worse and worse before I was able to take any medicine for it. By the time I took something it had turned in to a migraine and I began throwing up. Finally after 6 times, I took some ibuprofen and forced myself to go to sleep so that I could keep down the meds in order for my headache to subside... When I woke up 2 1/2 hrs. later, I was feeling much better.
I had called Jon in the early afternoon when I started feeling really bad and he came home and took over with the girls and I went to bed. They had a lot of fun playing outside in the sprinkler and riding bikes. Then he made them dinner, gave them baths and put them to bed. I feel blessed to have such an amazing husband who is also an incredible and loving daddy.
Jon & I will be celebrating 8 years of marriage on Monday... Thanks for all you do for our family babe! We love you!

Celebrating the Fourth...
We just relaxed at home in the morning before heading out to do a little shopping...

We had dinner at Johnny Ray's. Judy and my grandmother (who just moved here from MI) went with us too...

Then we went up on the mountain to see fireworks. We went about an hour early just to hang out.
We played a little soccer...

Blew some bubbles...

The girls had a blast climbing on this fence and the view was gorgeous...

Some of our friends Matt, Carla and Audrey met up with us. We had a great time catching up with them...

When the fireworks actually started Averi was like "woooo" and then she was a little more interested in playing with Mia's camera while she was sidetracked. She looked up every now and then and said "I like a pink one", but for the most part she was too busy doing other things to notice them much...
