WE GOT IT!

So we FINALLY found and bought our new SUV today. It is a crimson colored '02 Ford Explorer and I absolutely LOVE IT! It actually has gray on it too so it is a perfect car for a die hard Alabama fan:)

We have spent 3 or 4 months looking around and we were able to find this Explorer for a really good deal and in good condition. We bought it at this little lot outside of Tuscaloosa from the nicest dealers ever. Truly country boys and SO honest and helpful. I drove down there with Mia yesterday to look at it and convinced Jon that it was a perfect fit and a good deal. He was able to look at all the pictures online and talked to the guy on the phone several times yesterday, so we went as a family first thing this morning to pick it up.

The girls are so excited about it too. When we pulled out of the lot Averi said "woah...fun! I wike it". And Mia has been talking about it all day too and is excited to go show it off to all the grandparents after her nap.

Averi & Mom's Party

We had a little family party for Averi & for my mom (they have the same birthday) on Saturday. Here are a few pictures from the party...

Birthday Girls

We got a little ice cream cake for Averi & Mia to eat. They loved it.

Jeanna, my mom and I eating our Cheesecake Factory cheesecake....SO yummy!

My grandmother bought Averi this baby and baby bathtub for her birthday, so here's the girl's bathing their babies. They had so much fun playing with it.

In their jammies before we headed home for bed.

Notice how Mia's wearing a dress...She tried 3 or 4 on because she really wanted to wear a dress to the party (because that's what princesses do). And she kept saying to Averi "don't you want to wear a dress to the party?" and Averi would respond with a very strong "NO!" as if to say "why in the world would I WANT to wear a dress?!" :)

Mia's Sweet Prayer

"Dear Jesus...I pray for Grandaddy and Grandmama's back and I pray for all the people in the world. And I thank you for the yummy snack that mommy and I had outside today. The pink ice cream that mommy ate with cherries in it and my vanilla ice cream with sprinkles on it. Your so nice God...Amen"

Bunk Beds

We got the girls a set of bunk beds this past weekend. Judy (Jon's mom) saw an ad in the paper at Blue Cross where she works and they were a really good deal and from Rooms to Go, so we decided to go ahead and get them. Averi is still in her own room, and probably will be until next year, but it's good that we have them for when they do share a room.

Mia is ecstatic about them and has been saying "they are just awesome", "I love them", "they are so amazing" and on and on:) Averi just sees them as a jungle gym for now and is enjoying playing on them. We have taught her how to climb up them and I take the ladder away when I'm not able to be in there with them to avoid any big falls. I broke my collarbone when I was 5 from jumping off a bunk bed so I am well aware of what could happen with a child like Averi:)

It has some cute little shelves next to the bed, so Mia lined all her stuffed animals on them. It also has drawers on one side and a desk on the other side.

A Day at the Lake

We went to Lake Mitchell on Saturday to spend the day with a family that we are really close to and we had a FANTASTIC time. The girls had such a blast!

Riding on the golf cart

Mia & A. Cheryl

We went out on the boat twice and it was SO much fun. Mia helped U. Chip drive the boat while Averi went back and forth from person to person.

We stopped to let the girls dip their feet in the water..it was SO cold!

The girls got to use their Dora fishing poles for the first time while we were there. We didn't have any real bait, but they just had fun casting them out and reeling them back in.

Jon, Averi and I took a ride on the WaveRunner. Av loved it but it was not Mia's thing:) She wanted to come back after about 50 ft. I think she just didn't feel very secure on it.

Helping Tyler wash his truck

The girls had fun watering and feeding the flowers and plastic animals Cheryl had.
