Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. I am SO tired but it was a lot of fun. My aunt, uncle and 2 cousins came from Florida to visit.

Mia who has not been sick or gone to the doctor in over a year had a fever, earache and cough on Thanksgiving (of course when the dr's office was closed). After I did my "crazy person" shopping from 3am-9am on Black Friday, I took her to the doctor. Jon was up off and on all night with her. She has a really bad double ear infection. Thankfully though it is something that is treatable and she started her antibiotic yesterday. I felt awful for her and was sad that she wasn't feeling so good while our family was visiting but oh well...that happens.

I didn't get to take too many pictures, but here are a few of our Thanksgiving...

Averi enjoying her yummy lunch...

Aunt Jana & Uncle Mike showering the girls with presents like always when they come to visit...

Oh...and yes I got some great deals on black Friday! It is tradition and is so much fun. I used to think it was crazy too but now I can't imagine not doing it:)

Mia's Thanksgiving Lunch

Mia had a Thanksgiving lunch at her school this week. We all got to eat lunch with her which was fun...

Little Modern Day Pilgrim with her boots...I had to cut out her apron from a sheet last minute. It looked pretty bad close up but it worked:)

Averi sporting her new cheesy smile:)

They did a very short program with a song and verse. Mia is hard to see in the very back...

Averi's "Big Girl" Bed

So...I'm a little embarrassed to admit that Averi has still been sleeping in a crib until today. Why? Because she is a much different child than my overly cautious Mia. We had Mia in a twin bed at 20 months old. Yes, that's right! Because at the time we were preparing for Averi to be born and wanted to get the crib ready and get Mia used to a big bed. And of course Mia did great and never got out of her bed without calling for us first. We have been putting off converting Averi's bed for as long as possible. But she has recently slept in a regular bed in a hotel and napped at a friends house with no problem. So we decided she was ready.

As you can see she was super excited about it. These pictures were taken before her nap today. She couldn't wait to sleep in her "big girl" bed. She never got up, she went right to sleep, and just as we told her to do, she stayed in her bed until we came and got her up after her nap. So far, so good:)

And these were taken tonight after Mia "helped her make her bed beautiful". Or as I call it she "Miafied" it adding stuffed animals, blankets and even stickers:)

Family Time

We have really been enjoying having some time together as a family this week. It has been so great especially with the beautiful weather these last few days. We went to Heardmont Park yesterday.

My mom came with us...

The girls had a blast with daddy. They played hide and go seek which was pretty hilarious.

Favorite picture of the day!

State Cup

We had our State Cup this weekend in Decatur and finished 3rd in the state of Alabama in Div. 1 soccer. We were literally 1 goal away from being 2nd place, but oh well. We had a great time and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! Mia went with us this time and she had so much fun and got lots of attention. Averi stayed in town with Mimi & Juju.

Mia & T.J. listening to music and dancing to get pumped up for the game:)

Ruth & Mia after a game. It was freezing!

We had an awesome season but with all we have going on in our lives right now are a bit relieved to have a break from it all...God is already providing for our financial needs. Our team took up a love offering and gave us what would have been equivalent to a paycheck. God is good! Thanks so much for all the encouraging words and prayers!

Please Pray

Please be praying with and for us! We found out yesterday that Jon was being laid off effective tomorrow:( The bank has been struggling financially and they are having to make some cutbacks (as a lot of companies are right now). This came as a total shock to us! BUT we know that God is Sovereign. It honestly is scary especially when you have small children to take care of. But God has never let us "go hungry" before and I know He certainly will not now. Just be in prayer that God will give us wisdom and direction. It's strange because we both actually have a peace about it. I mean we are obviously concerned especially about him finding work in the economy as it is now, but we trust and believe that God's got a better plan for him and for us. Just not sure what it is yet, but we know He will reveal it to us in time. We are thankful that I am working part time right now so that will help some. Thanks for your prayers!

My current motto is: It is what it is! Now how we choose to react, deal with, and handle it is up to us.
