Averi's Meet the Teacher

I have really enjoyed getting to spend some special time with Averi these last couple weeks. She is such a happy-go-lucky child. It's so great to see the fruits of your labor as a parent when you work so hard to train your child and you can actually enjoy hanging out with them, instead of dreading it and looking forward to sending them off. I feel bad for parents that feel that way. It makes it worth taking the extra time to train and discipline them from the beginning, so that you can appreciate them at every stage...

Anyways, all that to say that she is starting school next week and I am actually feeling a little sad about it. Although she does LOVE to talk my ear off all day (especially now that Mia is in school) which can be exhausting, it is still going to seem so quiet and weird with her being in school 3 days a week. I know I will have a baby to fill my time soon enough though.

We went to her teacher orientation at Hunter Street today. She was SO excited about meeting her new teacher and friends at her school(definitely the opposite of how Mia was feeling about starting a new school). She did great though when I dropped her off in her classroom for the orientation meeting and wasn't a bit apprehensive. I really like her teacher...she seems super organized and informative which I am all about. I am thankful that God works these things out for us and am constantly reminding myself that this is why I shouldn't worry. He always works everything out for the best.

Getting Closer

I am getting closer to having this baby...YAY. I have been so tired and busy all summer that my blog fell to the bottom of my priority list, hence the 1 post in about 3 months.

I finished work this past week. I was really ready to be done. As much as I loved my job, it was getting harder to get going in the mornings, and then when I got home I had NO energy because it had all been expended at work and so I was like a lump on a log for the rest of the day. My house was greatly suffering:) My iron has been low this pregnancy, which has made me a lot more tired. I am on a supplement, but haven't been able to tell much difference. A lot of that could just be third trimester/baby kicking me in the ribs/peeing 3 times a night tiredness as well though.

So I have 6ish weeks to go. I am definitely in full force nesting mode. I have spent the last couple days washing/folding Lila's clothes. My next step is getting the rest of Averi's clothes moved out of her room and into Mia's room so that I can have the space for Lila's stuff. We moved Mia and Averi in together a few weeks ago and they are loving it.

My mom and sister and several other good friends threw me an awesome Baby Shower yesterday. Everything looked great and tasted wonderful and it was fun catching up with friends. I also got some adorable things. We had gotten rid of a lot of the clothes and smaller items from the other girls when we moved last year since we weren't sure we would be having another one, so it was a blessing to get some new things that we wouldn't have to buy.

So that's about it for now. You will hopefully be hearing from me a little bit more in the next few weeks. I have lots of catching up to do...

Mia Starts 1st Grade

Mia started the 1st Grade at South Shades Crest Elementary yesterday. We have loved having her at SMCS the past 2 years, but with me quitting work and a new baby on the way, it was going to be an impossibility for her to go back this year.

She was pretty apprehensive and sad about leaving her school and friends and starting all over at a place MUCH bigger. But she LOVES it. A lot of prayer went into our decision about school for this year, so it was confirmation to us when she liked it that we were doing the right thing.

Averi cried when we dropped Mia off. She is definitely missing having her big sister around, but will be starting school and gymnastics in 3 weeks. Once she has her own things going on, she'll be fine. In the meantime, I am enjoying having some one on one time with her before Lila arrives.
