The Truth Comes Out

Mia is a really good big sister and is very protective of Averi. However, she can also be very bossy at times. I find myself saying "Mia, you are not her mommy" to her MANY times a day.

So the other day Mia says to me "I wanna grow up and be a mommy just like you". I thought to myself "Oh how sweet, she wants to be just like me.." :)

Then the truth comes out...She follows it up with "And when I'm a mommy, I can tell Averi what to do ALL the time". In other words, her goal in life is to get "big" and be a mommy just so she can boss Averi around:)

She's gonna be crushed when Averi passes her up in heighth and gets "bigger" than her. LOL!

Making Caramel Apples

Mia & I made caramel apples while Averi was napping today...

She is such a great helper!

Okay so they weren't the prettiest I've ever seen but they sure did taste yummy!

Mia was a little overstressed about eating them because she didn't want to "get messy":)

So I had to cut her apples up for her...

Averi on the other hand...well you can see from the pictures. Lets just say she thoroughly enjoyed them:)

Bonfire With Friends

We went to a bonfire at some friends (from our church) house on Saturday night. It was the first event that we have been able to go to in a while because usually we are traveling or at a soccer game:) It was great to fellowship and catch up on everyone's lives. The girls had a great time playing with their friends too.

Abby's smile cracks me up...so cute! And I have no idea what Mia was doing in this picture, but she looks cute too:)

Cowgirl Boots

Well I finally found the girls Halloween costumes. Mia of course wanted to be a princess (AGAIN) this year. But I found a really cute indian Pocahontas costume at the Kid's Market, so she we compromised and she is going to be an indian princess this year instead:) I am still looking for some moccasins or boots for her. Let me know if you've seen either anywhere.

And Averi is going to be a cowgirl. I thought that would be kind of cute since those 2 kind of go together. So anyways I found Averi a really cute cowgirl costume on e-bay for $5 and then I found these adorably precious pink boots NWOT on e-bay too to go with it! She loves them and did not want to take them off when I put them on her...

Croc Obsession

Averi has this major obsession with one of Mia's black crocs. We have no idea why but it seriously is like her security blanket:) This obsession has been going on for a couple months now. As a matter of fact when we were in Pensacola last weekend, Jon's mom even let her sleep with is while we were gone. Now I don't let her do that but she said she didn't have the heart to take it away from her while we were gone which I can understand. So in the morning as soon as she wakes up she starts saying "shoe, shoe" and she gets frantic if we don't find it immediately. She takes it in the car with us everywhere we go. I had 3 people stop me in Wal-Mart the other day to say "she only has 1 shoe" and I just said "I know..." and went on.

We even tried to buy her a pair of her own to see if that would get her away from the "special croc" but it didnt work:)

If you look closely at a lot of the pictures that I have taken recently, you will notice she is holding "the croc" in a lot of them:) Do any of your kids have these weird obsessions or is it just mine?

A Sunday Ride

Jon's dad bought this bike cart for us when Mia was a year old. Unfortunately we don't have too much time to enjoy it during soccer season. But today was a beautiful day so after the girls naps we took a family ride in the neighborhoods around our house. It was so much fun. I was riding on the bike next to Jon and yes I was taking most of these while I was riding and yes I had some close calls:) But no wrecks, thank goodness!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went to the Pumpkin Patch with a few friends. This is one of my favorite things to do every year. This was Averi's first time to go and she had a blast. This kind of thing is right up her alley. She was running all over the place patting the pumpkins (or apples as she called them). She also loved the hayride and train ride. And of course she had a great time socializing with the other kids that came with us. Mia has been a couple times before but she had a great time too...
