Averi's 2 Year Checkup

I took Averi for her 2 year checkup this week and here are her stats:

Height: 34 1/2 inches (75th perc.)
Weight: 24 lbs. (25th perc.)

The good news is she went from 5th percentile up to 25th percentile since her last checkup for weight. She eats all the time, so I am glad to see she has gained some weight and is catching up.

Unfortunately she still struggles daily with her intestinal and constipation issues. Some of you may not know this, but when Averi was born she had so many problems with constipation that we had to take her to a pediatric gastro. specialist who spent weeks running tests and trying to find a way to help her go to the bathroom without a suppository. They were even discussing possible surgery. All of the normal "tricks" they try that normally work for infants did not work on her. Finally the Milk of Magnesia worked for a while and then at about a year they switched her to Miralax which she is still on now. It's still a thing where if she misses a dose, she has major problems and even sometimes with it she will fuss and complain when she's trying to go and say "it hurts". I just feel so bad for her and wish this was something she would outgrow. It's really been somewhat of mystery even to the doctor's. My pediatrician suggested maybe going back to see the gast. specialist in the next couple of months if the problem continues. We'll pray about it and see what happens....
