Mia Starts Her First Season of Soccer

Mia had her first soccer practice of the season yesterday. She has been very excited and asking for months when it was going to start. We bought her cleats earlier in the summer and have gotten out and practiced with her several times. But in the back of our minds, we both had a fear that once it actually got here she was going to panic and hate it when she got hot and sweaty and had to run:)

Well she proved us wrong...BIG TIME! She did so great. Not necessarily in the "best kid on the team" sense. We don't care about that. But in the sense that she tried hard, ran after every ball, participated without complaining and had a great time doing it. And she can't wait to go back next week! We are so thrilled! I think it has helped her growing up watching MANY games, and so it is something she is comfortable with. So big props to Mia. And I love that we are coaching her and can watch her grow throughout the season.

Jorge' is on Mia's team:)

Rachel was sitting on the sideline watching with Averi next to her and she said that Mia came running over on her water break and gave her a kiss and said "I'll be back in a little bit sissy". SO sweet! She did that because Averi got upset when we first all walked out on the field and she was left sitting over there and is used to Mia playing with her. So she wanted to check and make sure she was okay. Precious!!
